Programs & Services

In addition to providing guidance and support as well as resources to assist residents with their tenancies, the NCDF Resident Services Department offers many different programs and services that foster a sense of community, reduce social isolation and positively impact residents and their families.  Through the generosity of our donors, all programs and services are available free of charge to NCDF residents.

Fitness and Wellness 
NCDF offers and array of Fitness and Wellness programs at Casselman House and Weeks House. In addition to our Fitness Studios, which are fully equipped with treadmill, cross-training machine and strength training equipment, many classes are offered including Gentle Strengthening, Tai Chi, Meditation, Chair Yoga, Zumba Gold and Music and Movement. All classes are offered free of charge.

Care Connections
Through a long time collaboration with Springwell, Inc., NCDF offers Care Connections, which enables a care coordinator from the area’s Aging Services Access Point to hold on-site office hours and also to offer private pay services. Services include homemaking, personal care, grocery delivery, laundry assistance, companionship and home delivered meals. For those that qualify, there is a sliding scale for private pay services.

Youth Program
This awesome program is held in the NCDF Community Center at Houghton Village and is open to all residents ages 5-17. This is an afterschool drop-in program which offers homework help, a cooking club, book reviews, dance programs, outdoor activities and much more. The space is equipped with a computer lab and a Nintendo Switch.

Educational and Discussion Groups
Life long learning and engagement are important aspects of the aging process through regular conversation nd discussion groups including an American Culture Group, residents remain up to date on current events and have the opportunity to learn new things and share their own knowledge.  

Entertainment and Social Gatherings
Whether residents are enjoying a meal, movie or some live music together, NCDF offers many opportunities for residents to leave their apartments and have some fun. Potluck meals, afternoon movies, holiday parties and visits from the New England Conservatory are some of our most popular!
